Welcome to Chaloo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chaloo mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Chaloo ("we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Chaloo is a ridesharing platform that connects drivers with available seats to passengers travelling in the same direction. We act as an intermediary to facilitate these connections. Chaloo does not provide transportation services and is not a transportation carrier. The ride arrangement is directly between the driver and the passenger.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement. You must provide accurate and complete registration information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account with a valid phone number and email address. You agree to provide truthful information and to update it as needed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or provide false information.
Drivers set the cost-sharing price per seat for each ride they publish. Passengers book seats at the listed price. Chaloo may facilitate payments between drivers and passengers through the app. Cost sharing is intended to cover travel expenses such as fuel and tolls — it is not a commercial fare. Drivers must not profit commercially from rides offered through the platform.
You agree to use the Service respectfully and lawfully. You must not use the platform for commercial transportation services, misrepresent your identity, harass other users, or engage in any fraudulent or illegal activity. Drivers must hold a valid driving licence and appropriate insurance for their vehicle. Both drivers and passengers must comply with all applicable traffic and safety laws.
Users may cancel a ride booking subject to the cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in account restrictions. We reserve the right to modify the cancellation policy at any time.
While we implement safety features such as profile verification, ratings, and emergency tools, Chaloo does not guarantee the conduct of any user. You use the Service at your own risk. We encourage all users to review ratings and profiles before confirming a ride and to use the in-app safety features available.
All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on the Service belong to Chaloo or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chaloo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Chaloo in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chandigarh, India.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at contact@chalooapp.com.
